One of the best jobs here at PiratePayout.com is to notify people that they have won a prize! But, very frequently, the winners we contact don’t follow through the verification process and, unfortunately, we are not able to award a prize to those original winners and must select an alternate winner….sometimes several alternates! Here are a few tips to help to ensure you win the prize you deserve:
- Make sure your contact information is current and correct.
- If you receive any paperwork and have any questions, please call the sweepstakes company who sent it to you. Or, have someone else review documents for you. If you don’t know anyone who can do that, bring the documents to your local bank branch and they should be able to answer questions.
- If you choose to do so, return paperwork by any deadline stated, allowing for sufficient delivery time.
- Never send money or credit card/banking information to anyone in exchange for winning a prize. This is the sign of a scam.
In just a few days, we will be reaching out to a lucky winner for the $1.1 million Grand Prize! It could be you!
Ms. D.B. of Sparks, Nevada is the newest winner of the Apple iPad Air giveaway! She tells us,

How can we say this with certainty? Because the $1,100,000.00 cash Strike It Rich sweepstakes is GUARANTEED! That means anyone who entered can have their name selected, verified and will be named the winner!
Not all sweepstakes are guaranteed. As a matter of fact, some of the biggest, most well-known sweepstakes may NOT be guaranteed.
Go with a sure thing! Enter the $1,100,000.00 once a day, every day until May 12th and YOUR name could be selected!
Deadline to enter is midnight on May 12th, 2016!
In PiratePayout, the $1,100,000.00 Grand Prize sweepstakes and the $45,000.00 cash sweepstakes are each GUARANTEED to have a winner! “Why is this important and how can it be me?” you might be asking yourself right now.
Entering a GUARANTEED sweepstakes is important because you know FOR CERTAIN the prize will be awarded to a winner. In the Official Rules of the two largest PiratePayout sweepstakes, you will find important details such as the deadline for entries (very important!) and the date of the drawing of the winner.
On the date of the drawing of the winner, all of the eligible entries will be gathered and one name will be randomly selected. That person will be contacted, and if contact is made, paperwork confirming the person’s eligibility will be sent to that person.
Now here is where “guaranteed” makes a difference in a sweepstakes: If no contact is made, or the paperwork is not returned, another name will be drawn and that process continues until a potential winner is contacted and their eligibility is confirmed. In past drawings, almost a dozen people have been contacted before actually awarding the prize! But, one lucky person will be awarded each of the large prizes. That’s what GUARANTEED WINNER really means.
And the answer to the question, “Can the winner be me?” is Yes! If you enter the sweepstakes, and meet the eligibility requirements (for example you must be at least 18 years of age) you can be the winner! Each entry has the same chance as any other entry – that’s a fact.
You can enter once every 24 hours into any of the PiratePayout sweepstakes. Remember: the more entries you have, the more chances there are for your name to be drawn!
So, a guaranteed sweepstakes means a guaranteed winner…someone has to win so it might as well be you!
From time to time, we are going to share information about actual pirates. Some of these pirates are famous…others may not be, but all of them were characters!
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we’ll start with a pirate from the Emerald Isle ….and there is no lack of great pirate legends from Ireland!
One of the first legendary Irish pirates was Grace O’Malley, born in 1530 to a sailing and trading family on the coast of Western Ireland, in County Mayo. She learned to sail and trade from her father, but he would never allow her to join him on his trading trips, much to her disappointment. She even cut off her hair when he told her that her long hair would get caught in the ropes of the ship! When her father died, she inherited his business, along with property belonging to her mother and became a wealthy and influential woman.
She married her first husband in 1546 and they had three children together. After his death, Grace returned to her ancestral home, and was joined by many supporters from her husband’s side of the family because she was so powerful a figure.
It was around the time of her first husband’s death that her pirating activities began. Grace and her crew would stop and board ships in order to extract “taxes” of their own. Soon, complaints began reaching English authorities (who were overseeing the Irish government at the time) of this activity. She was, as we say now, on their radar.
Grace married again and had another son. It is unclear whether she officially divorced her second husband, but eventually split from him after a year, even more powerful and wealthy.
In the late 1500’s English rule in Ireland had become more oppressive and the English were determined to rid the islands of pirates and bandits. In 1593 the English governor captured two of Grace’s sons and confiscated her property. Grace sailed to England to appear in person to Queen Elizabeth I to petition for their release. Grace agreed to support the Queen against Irish rebels and the Queen released the two captives. However, she never got her property back and she thus continued to fight against English rule.
Grace died in 1603, probably at a castle she acquired during her second marriage. She has gone down as a true hero in Irish folklore and has been the inspiration for many stories, songs and plays.
There is a great deal of information available on the life and exploits of Grace O’Malley. She lived an interesting life and is a compelling historical figure who is definitely worth looking into further!
Why Should I Enter A Sweepstakes?
There are many sweepstakes you can enter and just as many reasons to do so! Entering a sweepstakes is free and usually fairly easy. Although some sweepstakes have what are called “long” odds (a lower statistical chance of winning), the reality is that each entry has an equal chance of winning. You could enter a sweeps every day, but each one of your entries has an equal chance of being selected the winner in a random drawing!
Entering a variety of sweepstakes can be a small, fun part of your daily routine. Some sweepstakes, like the ones that are part of PiratePayout, allow you to enter frequently; in the case of PiratePayout, it is every 24 hours for every one of the sweepstakes. Other sweepstakes have different rules regarding entry. Make sure you review and understand the rules of all sweepstakes that you enter.
If you discover a sweepstakes that offers a prize that you really would like to win, and there is no cost or obligation, enter frequently! Daydreaming of the escape to the house in Hawaii or spending the million dollars is worth the few minutes of entry time. Although you should never count on being the winner, thinking through the fantasy of living in Hawaii or spending that million dollars can be a mini-vacation in itself!
So take a few minutes to find a prize you would LOVE to win and give it a shot! You can join a community of many people who enter sweepstakes on a regular basis and some have the prizes to show for it. Remember, you can’t win if you don’t play!
How Will I Know I Won?
With the PiratePayout group of sweepstakes, the size of the prize will determine how you are notified as a potential winner. For smaller prizes, such as the monthly IPad Air tablet and the quarterly $1,000 cash, you will be contacted by email or telephone and then sent a postage-paid Affidavit of Eligibility via postal service or express delivery service; this information will need to be signed and returned within the timeframe specified. Feel free to ask a friend, relative, bank officer, or attorney to review and contact us with any questions.
For PiratePayout’s larger prizes, such as $45,000 and $1,100,000 payouts, a professional sweepstakes administrator is utilized to handle contacting and verifying potential winners. The Official Rules outline certain qualifiers, such as being 18 years of age or older, and any additional qualifiers that must be verified before a prize is awarded. The best time to contact a financial advisor is BEFORE you get your prize.
Information from your entry will be used to contact you so if the information is incorrect, and you cannot be reached, our prize award team will move on to the next person. This is an important differentiation from a non-guaranteed sweepstakes: if a sweepstakes is not guaranteed to be awarded, the grand prize could be added to another existing prize for the next sweepstakes. With the PiratePayout group of sweepstakes, we continue to contact potential winners until we reach and verify the eligibility of the final winner. In some cases, we have had to contact up to 10 people to reach and verify a $1,000,000 Grand Prize winner!
What Should I Do If I Win?
With any larger cash prize, PiratePayout strongly recommends contacting an attorney or financial advisor BEFORE you make any payout decisions. $45,000 and especially $1,100,000 are significant amounts of money. There are many examples of winners who have lost much or all of their winnings to scams or by making poor choices. Having a professional on your side as an advocate is very valuable.
